Blog ten: Balancing the Body

93 percent of Americans have a metabolic disease and are suffering from a disease like dysbiosis, inflammation, aging, diabetes, dementia, heart diseases, and cancers.

What can we reduce or eliminate to decrease the likelihood of these diseases?

-Modern ultra processed foods and diets with sugar and flour as well as hydrogenated oils and refined oils ( each American consumed on average, 152 pounds of sugar and flour per year).

-Environmental toxins

-Infections (bacterial, viruses, tick-borne illnesses) and microbiome imbalances

-Medications (antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, birth control, acid blockers)

-Sedentary lifestyle

-Stressors

-Isolation and loneliness

What can I do instead?

-Whole foods

-Grass fed, wild, pasture-raised meats, eggs, and fish

-Fiber (fruits and veggies!!)

-Micronutrients and phytonutrients (again, fruits and veggies!!)

-Real light exposure at the proper times (circadian rhythm!)

-Clean water and air

-Exercise and movement

-Social connections

-Restorative practices

-Meaning and purpose

Practices to incorporate:

1.) Buy whole-nutrient dense foods, including fruits and veggies!!

2.) Limit blue-spectrum light. Blue light glasses and screen settings on phones and computers!

3.) Getting a water filter and/or air filters (I use Epic water filter and have plants in my house!)

4.) Exercising regularly, even if it’s a 20 minute walk after work! (Only 23 percent of Americans get the recommended daily exercise! Lack of exercises increase mitochondria dysfunction, inflammation, DNA damage, telomere shortening, epigenetic changes, and zombie cells! All really really dangerous things!!!)

5.) Connect with people or a group (find people who have the same values and you!! You are 171 percent more likely to be obese if your friends are and only 40 percent more likely to be obese if your siblings are! You think and act like the people around you!!! Choose wisely!!)

6.) Practicing gratitude, self care, service to others, mediation! It’s all about your outlook on life!!

Xoxo, Hads
